The CDP's are entry level, second rig, garage stuff. You've be better off going to the local Goodwill and grabbing whatever they have, vs shipping.

Pep, sure, no problem. But only after I have processed it internally first.

I want to make some DIY jumpers for my SDA's and I use banana plugs on my 5-way binding posts. Spades will be perfect for this.

Speaker cabs - RT20p, misc small tower cabs with grills (2pair). Four working turntables, including a Thorens. Handful of old Eico tube tuners, speaker switch box, Vintage Leak and EV woofers, misc passive radiators, peerless tweeters, custom backloaded horn cabinets (heavy and cool), Sony R2R, old Fosgate Prologic Processor, Realistic Minimus speakers (2 pair with the soft dome/metal cabs), DIY folded horn subwoofer with 8" driver, DCM sub w bad amp, that's off the top of my head. Oh, there is a Marantz 2216 needs the pots cleaned and some bulbs, sony cdp that works, pioneer cdp that works, marantz cdp needs drawer help, let see....I've even got an old 'lead balloon' turntable stand WITH the solid lead bars (don't let your kids chew on them).

I'm going to head out there as soon as I get back home in a few. Plus you can fondle the new Polk gear sent down for LSAF.

I think you sold it a long time ago, but if you still had a Golden Tube Audio SE 40 single-ended Class A Tube Amp that you were giving away, I'd be driving to Texas and buying you the beer and dogs!

I hope some of you found some goodies.
Russ, that woofer is back in action, cost 59 cents for parts!
The Fosgate works pretty good as a 2 channel preamp.
I had to clean up the controls pretty well. It took a couple
of trial and error sessions to get it set up, but it's good for a SS
preamp. Thanks again for sharing with your fellow Polkies.

Glad to hear it Keith, it's actually a decent little woofer, won't play loud - but it's very musical. That, and the fact it's a DCM (from the Timeframe / Windows era) with an amp made by B&K - it's a neat peice of collaborative audio history.

What exactly was wrong with it? I had it for years, and about two years ago a huge thunder clap that shook the house and blinked the lights - it just started motorboating. Put it in the garage, hadn't touched it since.

Atta boy, was it just dirty pots as I suspected? Everyone should have a silver faced Marantz at some point in their audio journey. 16 watts driving Monitor 10's, who would have thunk it, eh?

Russ, the sub's 15 negative regulator was bad. LM7915ct.
It sounds much like my old KEF sub did. Sealed subs are
good for music. It wouldn't cut it for most HT stuff.
I may make it a Karma if one of my sons doesn't want it.
The Fosgate was a different bird. Took me a while to bypass all the
(space matrix) stuff. And after working all night I was about half brain dead.
Dskip, the Marantz's have that warm tone people like.
Pro attention might run up a bill that wouldn't make it worthwhile.
Go over to Tanner electronic surplus and pick up a can of their electronics
cleaner with silicone. It's really great stuff and makes a lot of those old
flakeys go away. Pots are always an issue in old gear. Ratshacks got it too,
but the pro grade stuff seems to work better for me.

Not sure. I got in there and spent about 5 minutes cleaning it before I hooked it up, only to get sound out of the left channel. I let it play for a few minutes, messed with the balance, and about 10 minutes in the right channel started coming to life. Still listening to it now with no issues and I tell you, it feels like I threw a sub into the mix. I never got the low end from the 10's that they are getting now. It also seems to have toned down the brightness too. Definitely not complaining about that.

I'll let a "professional" put their hands all over it and figure it out as the last thing I want to do is eff it up out of ignorance.
