Hi everyone,
I have am currently clearing out home theater store that is going under renovations of random product and I thought it may be ok to list some stuff here first and let you guys get a few days leg up before I have to post on other sites. I have been here on and off for years, have over 100 posts, but generally just do a bit of reading and admiring vs actually commenting. I have made a couple of purchases over the years, though I never got any rep for them. My user name on ebay is gibbles. In terms of what I have to offer so far they've given me mostly B&W series speakers and B&K amps to get sell for them. As of now I have my personal preamp a Classe SSP300, Peachtree amp, and a few other items, more pieces trickling week to week. If the answer is no I understand also. Please let me know.
Thanks for your time -J

You Sir, are golden. Post away and good luck with the sale(s).~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

That's fine I guess but honestly if you don't own it personally, you shouldn't be selling it. Just as long as you accept full responsibility for the sale and condition of the units you are selling...fine but this flea market isn't a clearing house for stores and businesses.
Otherwise this just turns into a Polk version of Craigslist. You'll be watched closely, of that I can assure you on my end. We've had ppl claim ignorance when something goes wrong because they weren't the original owners....and that will not be tolerated here. It's not like you have a long history here or of supporting anything Polk Audio wise. It's just a fact man.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
Daggum, Mark. He's been a member here since years before you started. He meets the criteria for selling, just doesn't post much is all. Good advice, nonetheless. If he's been here this long, I'm sure he knows the ropes.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? I don't doubt that Tom, just want to make sure he's solid and knows how our fleamarket rolls. We've had long term members default on Polkies before and known members drop the ball with far less time than he has here. Big deal.
I'm sure some older members remember these things as well. I'd bet very few ppl take the FM as serious as I do and I'm just trying to protect what little community we still have here.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Even though the OP meets most of the criteria, Mark is spot on. The FM is for selling gear that you personally own and he's being way more lax about it than I would be.Political Correctness'.........defined

Sherardp,
No more D's, I just sold the Rosenut HTM2D this past Sunday. I don't see much B&W takers here so I didn't think it would be regarded.
If they give me more I know to post here first. -

I understand that completely, and it's not that many pieces, actually. I know the shop well, and as on other sites I'm the one that handles any complaints, before it gets to them. I stand behind anything I offer up, because I expect others to do so when I purchase from them.
Thank You. -
So what kind of B&K amps do you have for sale?
-
I tend to lean towards what Mark said. Yeah, he's been a member longer than most of us, but his involvement has been very limited? If it was me, I would test each piece personally before listing, to ensure a good transaction, unless NIB.
BTW, asking first, shows a good start to integrity...... ><////(*> -
You the Maingey from Jersey that was supposed to do a local pick-up here about five years ago? I think I sold whatever it is you wanted, and thanks for the fantastic communications.

Mark is dead on. Umm.....just because he joined in 2001 doesn't mean he's been "here" a long time anymore than someone with 10K posts automatically can be trusted because they "participate".
Join dates, post count is fairly arbitrary when it comes to seperating me from my hard earned money. It can be a good indicator but someone like this just needs to make sure they understand how things roll around here.
I thought Mark's post was spot on.

Yes George, it is I. I am sorry for that and it's not typically the way I do things. I had a major event in my life and I pretty much shirked any responsibility that I had. It's great that it's sold and you're still not holding the bag, but if it's been about 5 yrs and you're still chaffed about it then I understand. Again, I apologize, it was my bad. -

That's a great start and statement Maingey, thank you for posting. I don't see any harm in what you want to do at the moment so you have my blessing for whatever weight that holds. Just continue to be honest and take care of the Polkies you get involved with.
Like Fishbone stated, you started the dialogue to find out if it was ok, which is above and beyond what most people do in this situation.

On Craigslist, I see clusters of ads for quality used gear in Hillsborough from time to time. Is that you?
Is there a showroom to test out the used gear? -
Fellas, I apologize. I just reread the original post and I can clearly see that I should not post when tired. For some reason, I thought he was selling his personal stuff. Thanks for keeping me in check and don't ever let me post when I'm falling asleep at the computer again. Got it?

Guy's, quit dragging it out. Tom, it's no big deal, you can express your opinion, doesn't make it wrong.
User asked, FM mod answered, all is right with the world.
At the end of the day, buyer beware as with any transaction, use your head.
Cheers,
