Thanks a lot, man! just received my karma power cable. Definitely beefier than the lamp cord I was using before. It's well built and looks sexy.

Not to thread jack but have a question for ya....
Is that a HRT Media Streamer I see in the background? If so how are you liking it as a USB to RCA DAC?
Looking at getting one to go between my computer and my HK 3490 so I can stop using Coaxial and then eventually get a 2 channel amp for the office and just use the HRT....."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." look bro, you're totally thread jacking and it isn't appreciated. Lol kidding .
Ok's, well, last I A/Bed it with my Creative Audigy 2 ZS soundcard and said they were the same... I just tried it again and it was night and day (audigy was like a chicken being beaten to death by a banjo), but that computer is jacked up, so I got out my laptop. Comparing my laptop, analog out, to the HRT was more fair. The HRT definitely has more detail across the board, better dynamics, tighter bass, better imaging, blah blah... if I were comparing those two, it's deffo worth the $125 for the HRT.
Anyway, this is not gonna be an apples to apples comparison for you because I am running analog outs and you are running digital outs. If your HK has a decent dac, you might not notice much a difference (or one at all). Also, keep this in mind... if you want to plug straight into an amp, you will lose volume control. You should be using WASAPI or ASIO, and with those you lose the volume control on your PC. One more down side to the streamer, it does not accept 192/24... it also does not accept weird signals like 22k8 (I think that's right?). It ONLY accepts what it says on the unit (32k, 44k1, 48k, 88k2, 96k). This really isn't a big downside, you probably will never run into an issue, but keep it in mind if you have weird material like that.
I spent $125 shipped on mine. I would say that was a worthwhile investment, not to mention that they seem to sell pretty easily on AG used.
edit: oh, definitely can recommend Jriver for as player. It has some funky default settings (like cross fade 4 seconds between tracks.. ew), but it is by far the easiest and most reliable player I've ever setup for WASAPI or ASIO... it supports it straight up, press of a button, no plugins like foobar or winamp. If you can find the free version 13 or earlier, it will support WASPI/ASIO... after that, it's paid only -

Crap, forgot about the volume control thing..... Now I think I remember why I was looking at the Yulong U100 lol....cokewithvanilla wrote: »Anyway, this is not gonna be an apples to apples comparison for you because I am running analog outs and you are running digital outs. Gotcha, I just know USB to RCA is prefered over coaxial. I honestly might keep the HK in the mix permantely since I own it, who knows. Its the 3490 and I dont know what kinda DAC's its got honestly..."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted."
