When leaving the CDP on stand-by is it putting a small current through the tubes and will this burn the tubes out quicker?

Thanks,

I would say yes since the plate voltage is kept ready but it depends on the design of the actual standby circuit. I find no need for that mode as I usually turn my gear on and go do something else while its warming up. It's an individual thing.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Small pre-amp tubes last for freakin' ever anyway. I certainly wouldn't worry about it. You'll roll them out years before they wear out.

tubes last a long time... i warm mine up for about an hour before doing any listening.. then the unit gets turned off for the night... rarely do I live mine in standby for more than a day though.. individual thing though....
