Pepster's power cable

Alright, as I promised Pepster I would post some thoughts on his cable. I'm not sure we can or should consider this as a review.

Also, lets not start a cable bashing thread here as well, I'm only telling YOU what *I* hear!

As I wait for my SC-25 to arrive, (again!?!), I let this cable roast through a standard, stand-up, oscillating, 3 speed room fan. The white ones you buy at Wal-Mart, you know what I'm talking about. I did this for nearly 75 hours or so. This was through a karma receptacle that I had gotten off of him, now I need to find another use for it.

I've been using this cable now for just a few days on my Outlaw LFM-1 Plus sub woofer, and replaced the stock cable, which looked like lamp cord. This is what I'm hearing - Seems a lot tighter overall, some great new punch in the mid bass section, and the most improvement is the response I get at <25hz or so. I watched Hot Fuzz Saturday, and found that I had to turn my sub down, so I wondered, popped in Flight of the Phoenix for another run at a scene I knew quite well, and boom, there were all the same qualities that I mentioned before. I've since turned the sub down on my AVR's settings, and I'm loving it even more. I seem to get a lot more bass where I wasn't getting it before.

I guess this could be a placebo effect, but I'm certain its not. This has changed my sub, in a great way. I went from a lamp cord to a garden hose, so I can understand why there would be some difference, IMO.

Pepster was great to deal with, and anyone around here looking for a high quality power cord at a steal of a deal, (I think he also has lots of colors to boot) should jump on it, and at least give it a try.

+1 for Pepster, and +1 for his cables, he was great to deal with, and has PM'd me many times making sure that I was happy.

Nice review. Might I add that even though I didn't buy a cable from him he gave me a lot of free friendly advice on building my own cables. Greatly appreciated !

I've had 3 of his power cables overall, and each one has been better than the last. I'm only using them on my pre but I can tell a difference, especially in the last one I received from him. I've brought them over to friends houses to try on their systems with the same results. He's a great guy to deal with and has helped me out a lot. +1 for Pepster and his cables from me too!

I have two of Paul's cables and they are nothing short of fantastic. First of all this guy would even sell me any of his cables until I upgraded my 69 cent loosie goosie power receptacle.

He did send me a hospital grade power receptacle for free while I pondered over a replacement.
I eventually purchased a Maestro power receptacle noticed an immediate improvement. I then started talking to Paul about my equipment. I decided to start with my dac and preamp. Paul did a bit of research on my dac and made me two VH style power cords. I have to agree with Cody, the mid-range was much better. I experienced greater detail than before and I'm sure these babies have a long way to go on the burn-in.
Overall, Paul makes an unbeatable pc for a heck of a price. What I also like is that I can tell he really enjoys helping folks improve their rigs. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another from him sight and unseen. For this, I owe this man a drink!
