Running speakers in computer monitor as center channel

Okay I'm pretty apt with speaker installs and setups but this one is boggling me a bit. I have my smaller yamaha RX V461, 7 Channel Sound Receiver for my office/gaming area. The issue is when running my center channel. As you can see from the pictures my center channel is currently mounted under my desk. The problem with that of course being that it makes the sound stage much less direct than I would like it. What I would like to do is use the speakers in my computer monitor as a center channel speaker. This is because obviously theres no space left on my desk to put a center channel and I am not about to set my monitor on top of a speaker box. I have already tried running a line output converter and that hasn't produced any sound at all. I made an RCA Cable with RCA's on one end and speaker wire on the other and tried to see if that would work and it does but in order to get the volume to go up past -13 db I have to wire them in series and that only gives me the left or the right speaker on the monitor. So does anyone have any ideas on what to do short of dismantling the monitor and adding speaker terminals to it?

No one has answered this, so I'll give it a shot.

If you have a preamp out for your center channel on your V461, hookup a RCA to 3.5mm plug into your mic or line in on your PC. Then connect your PC's audio out to your monitor. You'll then be able to use your PC's volume setting to set the center channel level. It's a bit of a hack, but your other methods have not worked, so it might be the solution. Let us know how it works.
