Polk Audio TL3
Hi All,
This is my first post on this forum and what has drawn to join this forum is my interest in purchasing Polk Audio TL350 Kit.
I must admit that these speakers suit my requirements me perfectly but what is lacking is reviews on these speakers. I have searched high and low on the internet and cannot find enough information.
Does anyone have experience with these? Are they as great as the marketing behind them?
The reason I am choosing Polk Audio is a friend who has the RTi series which was impressive when I heard them, however due to space constraint I need a lifestyle set and my mind is stuck between the Polk TL3 and B&W M1.
Waiting to hear from those who have heard them or own them.
By the way, I am in South Africa and these are scheduled to arrive in May, I hope.
Thanks

The speakers just came out and became available Esatpil. I've heard them, well, the pre-production prototypes and they're absolutely fantastic. You'll have to wait a couple months to get a bunch of reviews and feedback from the street.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I can vouch for the TL3s as well. They definitely do live up to the hype

There is a review of the TL-250's in this month's Home Theatre magazine. I figure that if the 250's get a great review (which they did!) then the 350's will be a cut above that! I too, am planning to buy the 350's within the next few months.

hi B-17 i'm very interested in seeing that review from Home Theater Mag. Would you happen to have a link?
(Toneaudio also had a wonderful review of the TL2/PSW111 combination) -
I originally bought TL2s to replace my fronts, but wasn't particularly thrilled with them. They sounded good, but just not as much range as I was looking for. I bought a pair of TL3s as soon as they hit the market. Put TL3s in as my front satellites and moved the TL2s for my surrounds (really didn't have the funds to drop on a full set of 3s). The TL3s definitely sound better than the TL2. It was big step up from the HTiB speakers I had been using. As soon as I have money to spare, planning to get a TL3 center.
IMO: I would like bigger/more expensive speakers, but cost and space aer both limiting factors for me. The size/color options of the Blackstones makes them very wife-friendly (especially the white surrounds, which was a point of much contention every time I mentioned upgrading my speakers.) in a living room 7.1 setup. -
Can anyone here compare the sound of the TL3's to the LSi series? I have LSi7's and an LSiC as my front stage, and am considering getting TL3's for the four surround speakers. I know they use a similar tweeter, but was wondering how well they would actually timbre match. Would they be able to hold their own against the LSi7's? I know they're smaller and have limitations is the lower end of the frequency spectrum, but am curious how they compare otherwise.

How's the clarity and detail when listening in low volume for TL3? I tested the TL2 in low volume, the sound becomes a little veil unless I turn it up.
