Anybody ever hear these speakers? They're on sale at 6th Ave for $396 for the pair. Not really looking for new speakers but from some of the outside reviews they sound like they're worth a second look.

For 400 a pair I would say that is a steal...

I cant think of anything for 400 a pair new that would make it look like a bad deal? lol

    For what application?

They're in the local sales flyer here on Long Island. They have them in-store in Commack.

A friend of mine has those speakers. He uses them in a 2.0 configuration with a Pioneer Elite for both HT and music. They definitely pull off the bipolar effect very well. The "socks" that cover the speakers seem like they would tear easily, but if you don't have kids or pets that's probably not a problem. The speakers sounded very smooth to me. The crossover between the built-in subs and the main drivers was very transparent. $400 is a steal. They are not the best speakers I have ever heard, but they are worth a lot more than $400 for the pair. I would strongly suggest you pick them up. They also resell very well on the used market as I understand it (assuming the subs are in good working order). Good luck!

They are not for everyone, thats for sure. In my opinion, I think they are best suited for Home Theatre, and then only if the listening room configuration is right. These are hard speakers to get right.
Do you hear that buzzing noise?
