So I built a 15in Dayton sub last year and then 6 months later I built a new sub With an RE Audio 15. Then I build my friend his end table sub, a few months later I build the end table sub I put up for sale. Now all of a sudden I have the itch again to build myself another sub:eek: Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly happy with my current one, but thought about maybe a second one, or if I don't have the room maybe a dual 15in setup or maybe even a triple:eek: As much as my fiance enjoys the sub as well, she just rolled her eyes when I told her about this:tongue: This may not materialize into anything, but damn it makes me wonder. Am I sick, going crazy, is my entire house gonna be filled with subs:confused::tongue:

The answer to "am I crazy?" is like the answer to "should I eat this?". It's always yes, and pictures of the results are required.

Right I have put my monster on hold...

I gotta purrchase two 2,000 watt amps and about 300 in materials to finish it up so this will have to be on hold for a while.. but I have cranked it up and it is the definition of stupid.

greyford, do you use any software to design the enclosure around the speaker?

I have a couple of subs, which can be used as "magazine tables" in front of the couch. This may be another idea for your furniture-type subs. One sub (StudioLab "The Pig") uses 4 10" drivers in pairs, the drivers in each pair face each other, and mounted at the bottom of the "table".

Yes I do use different software when I design these things. But what I have found out is that just because the software says it will sound good or bad, isn't always the case in real world terms, dohhhhh lol.

Really? Must be a bad software... We had a whole university course on acoustics, and one of the projects was speaker design... You really need to design the sub around the speaker's parameters to get the proper frequency response (especially for subs). That's my opinion anyway.

I know for the fact that Amar Bose is a very smart man (Ph.D from MIT, very successful businessman, etc). What's your point?

That.....according to most audio nuts, his use of software didn't really help or enhance his resulting speakers, ergo, he may have been using sub-standard software. (Humor:wink:) In case any one thinks I was bashing.....I own and actually like some Bose speakers.

    Build one of these!!

Nice work, that sub looks wicked.

OP dual 15's would rock. I wish I could get my hands on something like that or dual 13" drivers in a single enclosure driven by 900-1000 watt BASH amp. Either would be intense in a dual configuration with good EQ to tame things.

I guess you never heard older Bose speakers... Oh well, you definitely have some catching up to do.

I did not build my subwoofer off software - I just copied a design and improved upon it!

VMPS Larger with TC sounds drivers...

We were running frequency sweeps - it was solid below 10hz in room... with only 800 watts per driver...

Subs are easy to design, try a 3 way with all metal drivers.
