Ringgold, GA - Tornado Aftermath

Thought Id post some pics of what my beloved home town looks like after an F4 with 196 mph winds rolled thru. All these pictures are within a half mile of my house yet I escaped with only minor roof damage. I feel like somebody walked up to me, put a gun in my face, pulled the trigger and the bullet flew by my ear. We just got power back about an hour ago. Major kudos to Georgia Power. Most of the power lines in town look like a big wad of spaghetti. That they got this mess straightened out in less than 3 days is outstanding.
This was a Red Roof Inn.
The BP station I used to stop for milk and gas about once a week.
This is where I went to Jr high and high school.
Baymont Inn.
A gas station across from Food Lion about a mile from my crib. Used to use their car wash often.

Here's a good video of this monster. I walked out on my deck when the weather man said its here and this **** was 150 yards off my deck staring and coming right at me. Talk about a jolt! I was dumbstruck for a good 15 seconds. Its like walking out your front door and a T-Rex is staring at you! Missed us by about 50 yards.

Oh My God!!!! Glad that you and your family are safe. Must be scary as hell to out and see that 'thing' and know there's nothing one can do.

I have seen that before down in South Charlotte, you could clearly see the rotation but fortunately, it never materialized more than what this picture depicts. Glad to hear that you are OK. Scary stuff, indeed.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

Ooops, a continuation from post #6. I forgot to link the picture I was referring too. My bad.
While I'm at it, I would like to add that this picture does not do it justice. The size of these things are immense. The one I saw had to have been a mile or more long and you could clearly see the rotation. As it moved along, what disappeared at the tail end would out of nowhere reappear [out of nowhere and literally out of thin air] with rotation clearly defined as it appeared.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -

glad that you were spared-- your area recived much more substanial damage than ours,, and you know that pic's just don't convey the 'feeling" unless witnessed firsthand.I think what I'm trying to say is that it's just devasting to witness especially firsthand. IIRC--your area had few casualities? We had two,and judging by the destruction, we were indeed truly fortunate.JC approves....he told me so. (F-1 nut) -
Yes our little town of about 2000 people has 9 deaths so far. Tuscaloosa Alabama was by far the worst. The monster that hit that town was supposed to be a mile wide! Can you imagine that? 200+ mph winds over a mile wide! The pictures coming out of that town are just awful. We've got buildings destroyed. Theyve got buildings literally gone with nothing but a foundation remaining. I think their death toll is near 200 now.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005
