Here, here! I am guessing I am about 7 years further in school, and it has only gotten lamer. Well, the girls keep getting better looking. At times, thats the only reason I go to class. Not a bad reason either. -
I agree. Even if you hate it, just try to do really good because you want a good paying job to support your expensive hobby right? I'm getting it a lot worse than you. Mon 8am-5:10pm, Tues 8am-4:15pm, Wed 8am-1:30pm, Thurs 12:40pm-5:10pm, Fri 9am-2:25pm. And I have to work Fri, Sat and Sun. That blows man, I have no day off.
I have to agree with Shizelbs though. The girls get A LOT better once you hit college or university. My EE course is all guys. That's a good thing because I can finally concentrate in class. The only time I get to check out the hotties is in the hallways, during my spares and my smoke breaks:D.

Sid,
It's all what you make of it, lil bro. And it gets seriously better the more you are able to decide what you want to focus your studies upon.
Then comes the real fun... work... But if you study what you love, and become very capable in that area, you increase your odds of finding a job you'll love.
Been there, lil bro, for at least 75% of my working life... and that ain't a bad batting average.More later,
Tour...

Thats true. Thats what I am doing right now. 4 years of college down, and I am planning on 7 more. All so I can do what I want to do. I sure hope its worth it.
Just try to have as much fun as possible in high school. Get your work done quick, and then don't look back as you play into the night. Things start to get serious in college, but they teach you some pretty cool crap, and you get to choose what you learn, so, its much better than high school in many ways. -
Hang in there Trey! Do your best in school and you won't be sorry later in life.
I just registered for the BS program in Information Technology at college yesterday. I'm actually looking forward to going back to complete this. I'm checking into it, but I believe somewhere in the neighborhood of 16-24 credits from the MCSE tech school I went to will tranfer over. I'm looking to bust this out in about 3 years, that is if those credits transfer.
Trey, when I was your age, yes, school was considered lame. I look back and wish I would have applied myself a lot more.

Do you want to check out Actuarial Science?
If you like Physic, Computer Science and Math, you are probably doing well with Actuarial Science. You are almost guarantee to have a decent paying job when you get out of college. If you want more details, I will be more than happy to help. -

I made sure I hung with the Marketing dudes while in college because they KNOW how to party and there are a lot of babes chasing down a marketing degree.

I might've agreed with you at one point in life. Now... I'm in the real world and have had to actually work with the people who didn't study.
I try to help some of them out.. I look at them.. right in the eye.. and say directly... Supersize that, please. -

Trey,
Sounds like you are suffering from the high school "freshman" blues. You know what, it gets worse as a sophomore. Talk about a year that you really don't know or can figure out what the heck you are doing there.
School, I believe is an important thing. Not so much high school, but you have to put yourself in a position to go to college. College is not a cure - all or end to all means either. But nowadays, a college degree certainly does help your chances out in finding a "better" job out in the real world.
You are a smart person. You have writing skills, an uncanny sense of memory and recall, computer skills, and artistic skills. You are only a freshman in high school. Enjoy these years because one day they will be gone and you will have to work everyday at some job.
An option for you is to learn your dad's business and follow in his footsteps. Real estate (building and selling houses) is always going to be around as the general population census increases and older establishments are torn down and rebuilt next to the new ones. Working for someone else generally sucks, but working for oneself in some kind of business is where most folks get wealthy pretty quick. It certainly takes hard work and sometimes some luck to be successful.
For me, I am glad I went to college and graduated. I know that I wouldn't be in the position that I am in today had it not be for my education and the opportunities that it has presented me. It is not an easy road to take nor does it guarantee success but that sheet of paper is something that no one can ever take away from you once you achieve that goal. Just bear through it dude for now; high school gets better when you become a junior and by the time you are a senior you will be ready to get the eff out of there and move on to "the real world" whether it be college or some other job.
p.s. I generally hated English the most and excelled at science and math.

I like English and Science - Math, I hate its a chore....lol
This is my second year working for my Dad, hopefully I will have many more years to work for him. I also detail cars, build websites, build houses -- so I have something to fall back on. I plan to go to a 2 year colege. Not a 4....
4 year colege requirements are so high now, in the math department I could not pass, and would easily falter as I moved up in scale. It would be near impossible without spending 7 years in high school for me to get in a 4 year colege....lol- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Study hard and endure the short term pain now and the longer term will be that much easier and you will thank yourself when you become my age. Your chances for a better employment opportunities when you have completed a higher education will benefit you in many ways......(the high end stereo that you have dreamt about.....could be yours or that car you always wanted could be yours...etc.).

Hbomb,
It's EE -Control Systems. I'm going into my second year. The first year was quite fun and I learned so much. My favorite part was the second semester when I learned about ampifiers. We got into Class A, B, C but covered very little on MOSFET. The only course I hate is Logic(PLC). The lectures are interesting. It's like watching TLC or Discovery channel(yeah, I watch them:)) The labs are awesome too. I made Class A and B amps and had to make them clip. The class A clipped hard while Class B clipping looks like a "Mexican party hat" on the scope.
Ever pass by the cosmetic class?:D
