I was lucky enough to pick up a set of Monitor 7B with stands on Thursday for $90. They are not perfect, they are clean though and have a nicely sealed cabinet. The grills have quit a bit of pilling and each have a dented corner or two on the back, front corners are good. No major scratches. The stands angle the speakers slightly upward. The top plate goes from 8 1/2 in. to 9 1/2 inches in the front. After listening to them I feel they were well worth the $90.

I have a couple of questions. Number one, I believe these are the peerless tweeters, they have the small hole in the center of the dust cap. the two lines that angle from the dust cap go downwards on one speaker and upwards on the other. Would this be from someone removing the the tweeter and installing it upside down?
Question 2. Right now I have them set up in a 14 X 22 room 8 foot apart on the 14 foot wall. I was looking for recommendations on how far from the wall to place the speakers? All of the other Polks I own are ported and I tend to move them away form the wall. This is my first sealed pair.

Thank you to anyone with any input.

Agreed, whatever sounds best to me. I threw that out there because I tend to set things up the same all the time. I really am asking for some opinions rather they work for me or not. I have moved them forward and back some and I would say moving them back helps Bass. As I stated they are the first pair of non ported speakers I have owned and I expect that they may behave different than what I have experienced in the past.
