Hi,
I've finally convinced my wife to let me get a subwoofer for our system that has non powered BOSE Acoustimass 10 speakers (cant replace Bose speakers). I'm wondering what my options are for picking up more bass. My receiver is a 7 year old Denon AVR-2803, which has a max crossover frequency of 120Hz. The manual for the Bose speakers says to set the crossover frequency to 200Hz. So, I'm assuming that the Bose speakers has a min frequency of around 200Hz, leaving a gap between 120Hz and 200Hz.
I am looking at getting either the Polk PSW10 or PSW111. The PSW10 has a max frequency of 200Hz, and the PSW111 has a max frequency of 250Hz.
My receiver has pre-outs for Left, Right, Center, Left Surround, Right Surround and Subwoofer. I was planning on using option 3 (use pre-outs), with both the Left and Right speakers. What I'm wondering if it's possible to do an enhanced 3, where I enable the subwoofer, and combine Left + Right to one cable and Subwoofer to the other. That way, I'd get frequencies sent to the subwoofer both above and below the crossover frequency.
Thanks,
Rob

I own a BIC F12 sub and I love it and recommend it highly. The frequency hole is always going to be an issue if you stick with the Bose. Their satellites can't go below 200hz. Have you checked out Polk's Blackstone satellite series? It's been getting some solid reviews.TV: 65" Samsung QLED 4K
