I gave up my HK AVR 745 and dived into an Onkyo 875 because it was one of the better receiver that could do 1080p upscaling. But now I'm seeing that the HK 3600 and the AVR 7550HD is in the game, I'm thinking about getting rid of the onkyo and jump back to the HK. I've always like how the HK receiver sound.
For around the 3600 can be had in the high 600 and the 7550hd is right about $1k debating if it's worth the move

I just bought a new AVR 3600 as my first receiver to go along with the RTi A like of speakers I picked up. I'm happy with the sound, but have nothing to compare it to. I don't know that I would call it a 'new' receiver. I believe the AVR 1600/2600/3600 were released toward the end of '09 and I think the 7550HD was released later and shortly dropped by HK. I don't know what HK's typical product life span is but it is possible they will be releasing a newer product line soon. I knew this before I bought mine and I'm ok with that decision. In my opinion it gives them time to iron out firmware bugs. Either way, the product line age is something to think about.

Looking on HK's site, it's the only thing on there with no new product introduction. They got a firmware update for HDMI 1.4 for 3d so it seems as though they're still improving it.
The one thing I hate about HK is their volume control knob. Almost every HK unit I've own had issues with adjusting the volume from the unit.Sammy UN55C6400
