In my experience, if you haven't mastered the lying long before getting married, God help you. Not exactly a learn-on-the-job kinda thing. Having a storage unit she never visits also helps.

What seems to have worked for me at least as far as buying what I want is a technique I refer to as "hidden in plain view". For example, if I wanted another guitar I would simply buy it and store it cleverly in view amongst my other ones. Naturally, I would have to put off playing it for a week or two. After said time she sees me playing the new guitar and comments, when did you get that one ? To which I'd reply oh I have had it for a while now. Hope that helps. :cool:
