Got my damaged Lsi 15's back. Before and after picks. Spent $250 at the cabinet shop and another $75 on new bases. Not too bad for a pair of freebies that were headed for the dumpster.[IMG][/img][IMG][/img][IMG][/img][IMG][/img]

My LSi's were pretty beat up(almost like yours). I opted for the bodyshop over a cabinet restorer because according to Polk, the finish on the LSi is accomplished with a basecoat/clearcoat similar to automotive paint. The repair work on yours is a far cry better than they were, but I think I would check with a bodyshop and see if they can shoot yours the next time they put a black car in the booth. They should also be able to square up the corners a bit.

Don't get me wrong on this as they are much better off now thean they were, but to me, the result looks like the repairs are half completed. If you decide to restore the cabinets back to the original finish, I think you will be well pleased with the results.

I can vouch for that. I have seen the LSi's he's referring to and I couldnt tell the difference between the finish on the two. There were some cosmetic differences (nicks/dings) you could see upon further inspection on the refinished one, but nothing that was glaringly wrong.

But the satin finish looks decent as well and much much better than when you got them lol. The only problem is if you get the LSiC the finish obviously wont match and depending on how OCD you are that could be a problem.....

These will be relegated to the bedroom when the new 707s hit. In hindsight, should have gone the body shop route, just not going to pay to have it done twice.
