Outdoor 5.1

Planning on getting some proper outdoor speakers this summer for backyard movie night and general listening while outdoors. Obviously they need to stand up to the elements as they will be fully exposed to rain, wind, occasional irrigation overspray, critters and errant tennis or soccer ball. I have a pair of NHT outdoor ones that sound nice, but are too big, discontinued and were too pricey anyway for 5. I'm currently using some cambridge soundworks satellite speakers (small, 4" cubes) that I have to bring inside after each movie night. They do in a pinch, but I'd rather not set them up each time, and they sound pretty thin. I'd love something reasonably small with decent bass, but am not averse to a separate sub (or two) if that is more cost efficient. Since the atriums are so common (frequency sales and used availability), can I mix and match the atriums with confidence, or do I need to take the same care for timbre matching as for indoor surround. Also considering building my own from aluminum full range drivers (either mark audio chr-70 or something from dayton). Will be driving them from my AVR in the house with low-voltage 12ga landscape lightning wiring. All suggestions welcome.

Take a look at the Atriums. I run Atrium 60's outdoors, no issues so far. For some reason the grills were coming off, but I just pushed them back on. They stand up to the elements very well. Other than that, perfect. I would check the Polk Ebay store, they have great deals all the time.

    Thanks, I'll check those out.
