hmmmmm, I've used windows movie maker quite a bit, and havn't had that happen. There is a Windows Movie Maker II out, you can get it through windows update. If that doesn't work, then there's a slew of video editing programs out there. I use Adobe Premiere which is considered by many to be the industry standard (head to head with Final Cut Pro). However these two are *not* cheap, and so you have to either have to know someone or part with some cash. I've also used an editor called "Dazzle" which came with my Firewire card, It doesn't hold a candle to Premiere, but hey, it was free.

If you are using windows XP and are using Movie Maker and it justs *shuts off* then XP is doing what I call......Flushing the Memory
Does your entire computer sorda do a on-screen live time reboot without actually doing a reboot afterwards?
OH BTW - if so, this is a lack of RAM and Harddrive space - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.
