I want to call your attention to this Fisher integrated that is up for auction on ebay. I'm not the seller. This post is just a heads up on a nice piece of kit that I happen to have enjoyed auditioning for a few days.
THIS amp passed across my bench for a bench check on it's way to the auction. I'm a big fan of The Fisher line of tube amps to begin with but I was impressed by this particular amp for a variety of reasons. It's exceptionally clean and straight for an amp of it's age, very quiet, with good wave forms and excellent sound. It's got a new set of 7868 power tubes which are a 7591 variant with Novar pins (the 7591 is my personal favorite among power pentodes). The X-100-C has good iron, these dual triodes all tested well on my B&K707 and it has been recapped with Sprague orange drops. What's not to like?
Anyone who is looking to get into tube gear at an affordable price point could do a lot worse than this baby.
The seller has a very nice 2-channel shop here in Phoenix and is a straight up guy.
