    MDAudioGuy - I would go around and rewire any outlets that are using the rear spring connections. As you found out, they're crap. That situation easily could've burnt your house down as the resistance went high and generated more heat, catching the outlet on fire, and starting a fire inside the wall.

    Those spring loaded rear connections are a source of frustration and I would highly recommend using the screw terminals over them.
