    What is going on with them? what are they doing? if anything?? Have you pulled the crossovers??

    A little more info of whats going on with them would help greatly!!!

    no sound shuts. down soon as connected, pulled speakers out of cabinets. have not removed cross over yet ...

    What are you powering them with? What volume level were you listening to them?

    Sounds like a receiver problem as I have a hard time seeing you fried allspeakers at once..

    they didnt all go at once, avr stays on with no speakers connected. i do like to crank up the volume once in awhile.

    Check your Crossovers then, what AVR are you using??

    Have you tried hooking the speakers up to a different AVR?
    Have you tried a different set of speakers (other than the ones mentioned in this thread) on the AVR?
    Have you tried hooking only one speaker up to the R channel?
    Have you tried hooking only one speaker to the L channel?
    Have you tried hooking up a different speaker to the R channel?
    Have you ...

    Running an AVR without any speakers hooked up to it does not prove that the AVR is in working order. What other tests have you performed to verify that it is indeed the speakers that are causing your receiver to shut down? As others have said, more information is needed.

    ran a test with spare rti 6,s had in garage. front left and right and surround channels work.i guess theres nothing wrong with the hk avr 8000.... not sure what i,m looking for with the cross over, should it be tested with meter ???? thanks for the suggestions...
