Best way to sell alot of CDs ???

So I've got alot (lets call it somewhere between 200 and 500) of CDs that are either duplicates or that I don't listen to any longer, and wanted to get your advice on the best way to sell these.

Has anyone used one of those buy and sell places like CD Warehouse or Movie Trading Company? Am I gonna get shafted on price if I go to one of those places?

I may list them on here, but would want to sell in groups. Assuming I don't have any rare discs or anything like that, what's a fair price to ask for used CDs?

I'm still going through everything now, but I know I'll have alot to sell, so just trying to think through how I'm going to do that and thought someone else here may have some experience.

In my experience, they usually offer between $1.25 to usually no more than $2.50 per CD.....and this is rare [the $2.50 per]. There can be no scratches and the jewel case and literature have to be in decent condition, otherwise they just toss it aside.

I will keep that in mind when I get ready to sell, just trying to get some advice first on how to price and such. It'll be a day or two before I even have the full list ready.

lots of cds sold on the Hoffman board but buyers are particular about pressing, condition etc. Take a look at half, amazon, and ebay for pricing guidelines.

What do you want to do? Make a few bucks, or lose a bunch of cd's fast?

If you want to make a few bucks, consider investing a little time and effort, and perhaps assembling a list of titles with conditions.

If you just want to lose a bunch of cd's fast, take up skeet-shooting.

Oh I'll definitely be compiling a list, would never expect anyone to buy a bulk of CDs without knowing what they are.

I'm going through my collection over the next couple days and putting the list together.

The garage sale prices are between .25 and $1.
The cd places do a little better, as mentioned.
I'd avoid Movie Warehouse. They won't take a lot of artists.
You'll get a lot more bang for your buck trading them in for store credit.
There's a great cd place down on Greenville in Dallas.
Great selection, but I don't know what their trade in
policy is. I'd call them and find out.
Now that I have put them on FLAC on a pc, I find myself
listening to a lot more variety of music. That includes cd's
from one or two hit wonders. It also makes it easier to go ahead and
bulk store your cd's, since you no longer need to search through
    them. Good luck, either way.

Many here would be happy to buy them above the trade in value, assuming that they're in good condition. Set a minimum spend to cover your efforts, and charge for media mail and packing.

I'd love to come by and 'help' you sort them. Say the word.
