A friend of mine has a son who has Muscular Distrophy and has been in a wheelchair since his early teens. His son started a project 2 years ago to rebuild and modify a Nippi. The following video shows its maiden test.

    That's so cool!

Reminds me of years ago when I was selling my '85 Honda Odyssey. It had hand controls and reverse. A mid 40's gent in a wheel chair bought it. I thought he was going to smile himself to death. He had god upper body strength and could easily swing into it. He test drove it on our gravel road, and couldn't hand the cash to me fast enough. He had a farm and felt he now had a safe and fun way to get around.

I'm writing a grant application for NIH funding for muscular dystrophy research right now! Glad to hear he's still finding ways to enjoy his life. Muscle wasting diseases are absolutely terrible.
