people started talking about this on a thread in the custom fab. section and its a topic im really interested in.... whats a great detector as well as something thats gonna block the nasty tools of the devil known as radar, laser, ect... *shiver* there were many brands//types id like to hear what you think the pros and cons are for these and whats best

    the escort passport 8500 and the valentine 1 are supposed to be the two best radar/laser detectors out there
    i have the escort...and its saved my butt more than once...actually about 50 or so times to date
    the valentine1 has arrows and it will tell you where the signal is coming from

    adv-i think itll detect radar/laser better
    not many false alarms(caused by motion detector alarm systems for businesses and automatic door openers)
    looks slick
    it says it can be upgraded when new stuff comes out...i dont know what that means but hey....you can tell your friends that instead of buying a new one i can hook mine up to a computer
    dis-no arrows, ive heard it has poor rear protection...but i disagree...ppl complained that they would pass up a cop on the other side of the road and right when they passed them it wouldnt pick up signal
    well no crap...if the police car is facing your way on the opposite side of the road...radar going forward...when you pass it the radar isnt going to hit the detector b/c there is no radar there...its going the other way....do you know what i mean?

    from personl experience...i like it...it was 299...which is like the cheapest you can get on the internet....i think sounddomain and crutchfield both carry it...find it with free shipping and there you go

    ive been hearing this radio ad about the "faser"
    havent heard anything about it
    i have heard about K40
    they will pay for your ticket within the first yr of getting it
    i was almost tempted to get this one...but i plan on getting a newer vehicle in a couple of years and im not sure how "transferrable" it is from vehicle to vehicle
    i know you can get them to install it and it looks like part of your cars interior...which ive heard is expensive...but im sure its just where you get it installed
    ive had no personal experience...but if you get a radar/laser blocker...k40 is my choice

    yes its the phazer2.... it blocks all types of speed detection by sending mixed signals back to the gun and jamming it, the cop will either get like 3 mph or 300 something and he wont get a real reading... they will pay for any ticket you get as long as your speed wasnt 15 mph over the limit or 30% over the limit, whichever turns out to be less... very stupid because thats 80 on the highway they wont pay for and thats just cruising speed.... hehe and thats 40 in a 30 when your going slow, the 15 mph rule is for speeding in high limits and the 30% is for speeding in low...
