burying Bose cubes in walls

Hello again, I just need another opinion here of a practice of the co. I used to work for. We were primerily a high end alarm / security co. that branched out to become a Bose distributer. Now I've install the Lifestyle 30s and 50s and for some houses they were fine. For much bigger houses we installed these 3-room amps in the basement of most houses. These amps if you don't know look like car amps w/ the ability to handle 3 rooms and then be bonded to fit more amps depending on how much the customer wanted.
One customer did not want the cubes to show on a Lifestyle 50 system so we had to make an internal shelf to hide the cube to be covered by a common
flush type grill cover. Keep in mind all this work was pre-wired and then when they closed we finished up.
I don't know if any of you guys have heard of this technique and have an opinion either way. I am retired now and away from the co. for 9 yrs if that matters.......LW

I have heard of people doing this with all kinds of small bookshelf and mini speakers. At least until they started making in-wall speakers that actually sounded good.

It is moot now with in-wall fronts, centers and subs that are designed to disappear into the aesthetics of the room and sound great doing it.

I still prefer regular speakers so the compromise is not worth the sonic loss to me.

not worth the time spend with a shovel.

and honestly any box speaker then placed into a wall will change the speakers performance. So normally its not recommended and to rather go with another type of inwall speaker.

Also I don't think you can take the gril off the bose so you would have two grills then the speaker is playing through. Once again can change things...

I humbly disagree with all of the above, except the shovel part, as my dog will bury them for me.

...these speakers really shine and sound better than any other speaker I have ever heard. It is actually beneficial to have two grills covering the speaker because otherwise they would sound so lifelike that your brain could not process the illusion and would turn to mush.
