Guys I'm on my way to NYC with my high school band. Any really good places that only the locals know that won't break the bank? Looking for steak or lamb.

A kinda place that has been in buisness for 120 years in the same place, and is so packed 7 nights a week that you need reservations a week in advance.

Saigon Grill if you are on a budget....not really a Steak and lamb place, but they have plenty of other kinds of meat....upper side one is better

Carmine is also little higher on the price but very good....upper side one is better

Peter Luger's is so packed that the wait alone to get into the restaurant is worth it.

It's definitely worth bringing cash for.
