Does any members on the forum own one of these ?
I think its time I hopped on the buss and started downloading music and this product seems pretty cool .I was looking it up on amazon and people where saying the dac inside this is very good . One reviewer even owns a benchmark dac and he said the differances where marginal with high res downloads
What do you guys think about this product ...... is it worth the money? what alternatives is there

Ask H9, I think he's in love with the thing.... (that was a joke)....
but seriously, he's got it and is pretty knowledgeable . -
It's worth every penny. Made me enjoy listening to music again because of how easy it is to access my whole collection. I use an external DAC, but the internal DAC is quite good if you want to get your feet wet with the product without the cost of a dedicated DAC. I've had every model since the SB2 and the Touch's DACs are definitely an improvement over previous models.
I honestly wouldn't want to listen to music without my Touch./COLOR] My Rigs [COLOR="Red" Balanced Audio Technology | Revel | Dodd | Monarchy | PS Audio | MIT | Polk | Etc. -

Yes, it's a good product, but it depends on what you're putting through it and what you're putting it through. A lot of downloaded music is lossy (iTunes, Amazon - great for portable players), but there are some alternatives. Most of my digitized music is now lossless, CD-quality. -
Lots and lots of threads on this subject already.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul! -
I really don't understand why people don't use the search function before posting something like this. There are 2 very good reasons to do a search before posting a new thread:
1 - So people don't have to keep answering the same questions over and over and
2 - More importantly, it ultimately results in less threads on a given topic, which keeps the discussion and points more centralized and easier for people to find all the information they need. -

Agreed. More than enough info here:
