I purchased the rti70 and the sound was off even after calibration, so I returned them and am now looking to get some 800i, to go along with my 400i center channel. I know that someone on this forum is selling some but for some reason other members who seem to know more than me seem not to trust him so I will go along with my fellow polksters and pass. If someone is thinking of purchasing the 70's and has a pair of 800i to sell let me know, post here and i will get back to you. Their are some on ebay but the seller is in Canada and that scares me.

We Canadians can't be trusted. We're lining up at the border ready in to invade. Watch out. ;):D

Check out the guy's feedback. I don't think you should be all that worried out the crossborder thing. You'll gain on the dollar conversion.

    SorryD!,

I did not mean any offense by that just that I have never brought anything from an "International Seller" before, I read his feedback and sent him an e-mail, let's see what happens.

    No offense taken whatsoever. :)

Go with your gut. If you're not comfortable buying crossborder, I'm sure a pair rt800i will popup here eventually.

I can get ahold of a pair of RT800i's in chery, in good shape 8/10 $305 each. I know it may seem high but the guy seeling them likes them so much he said the price is firm, "if they want them for 305 I'll sell them". I can get new boxed RT600i's in black for $170 each. If either of these are of interest to you let me know.

Mmmmm! they are basically the same speaker.. with the RTi70 having a different tweeter. Did you give them time to break in? Break in would help open up the soundstage. I hope you can find a pair of 800i's. I love mine. I'll prob never sell em. sorry.
Go for the cherry if you can find them. :D

Problem with buying from canada, is the shipping cost from there to US can be very high, I bought a doll for my wife from canada and cost 25 bucks and it weighed 2 lbs.. That is what i worry about more then getting the item is the shipping cost.

second, I have all black speakers and traded to get the cherry rti70's and it just adds something. contrast or what have you.. i love em and it breaks up all the black..

far as Rt800's at 305.00 each, seems kinda high, they are getting older now and the 70's can be had new for that.. the Cs400 center can be sold easy for $200.00 - 250.00 and enough to get a csi40.. Upgrade i say, unless you can find 800's.. which will most certainly be a year old or more used.. unless you get real lucky...

i agree with faster100 the cherry RT800i's do help break up all the black. and they are better looking in cherry than black walnut to me. i have RT1000i's in black.. nothing special. but you put them side by side with the 800's in cherry.. and you can see who truely beautiful they are.

I agree, the cherry do look sharp. The color gives a style to the speakers that black just cant do.

I hope you find what you are looking for, if you or anyone else wants the cherry 800i's or new 600i's let me know.

    PEACE!
