Hey, does anyone think it would be a good idea to have a 'My system' drop down?
A lot of people don't put their system in their sig for various reasons. It eats up space and whatnot... but in a lot of threads when people ask for help, they need to be asked what their system includes.
I think it would be cool for everyone to be able list their system without having to have it show up in everyone's faces in their sig line. It would be much more organized, everything would be categorized and what not...
example:
then here is how you enter stuff in:

That would be just dandy.
Is there a way to actually do it within the CP forum system?Sounds good to me... -
You can do that, just post a link to your system showcase...I used to do it and it works great.

But that's not really a "dropdown" just a hyperlink.
(not to say it's not a perfectly good way to show your system)Sounds good to me... -

I cannot claim to have any experience with vBullitin, but I believe drop downs are possible, so I can't imagine why this wouldn't be.Conradicles wrote: »You can do that, just post a link to your system showcase...I used to do it and it works great.
I guess the difference is that a newbie can be asked to enter his/her system, or it could even be an optional step in registration, with ease. I've never done a system showcase, but just thinking about it makes me think of having to take pictures and this and that... just another level of difficulty. Having it this way would mean that everyone could easily and uniformly list their system specs. NOt to mention the ease of which people could look through your system for possible weak links/problems.. or just for fun....lol and this >>The showcase is broken. -
FIX the showcase and note you do not need to add pictures. You can just list your gear.
It's a good idea, but we are having a hard enough time getting folks to fix the broken things like showcase and feedback system...much less add something new to the site. -
Really a whole page to tell what stuff you got? :eek:Trying out Different Audio Cables is a Religious Affair. You don't discuss it with anyone.:biggrin:

Shoot, George would need 15 pages on a good day.~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~
