Alright, so since this is an audio forum and we all listen to our pristine sounding polk speakers, and I know that most of you have tried several pairs of headphones before setting on a pair that sounds just right....
Now, I am looking for a pair just like that, my only issue is A) my tight budget and B) my picky ears.
I like the in ear canal type but most of the earbuds do not fit, the only kind that has made a really nice fit was the Klipsch S3.
I am torn between the over ear and the in ear.
So, For under $60 is my budget for new headphones which would you guys recommend out of all of your headphone trying endeavors.
Right now I am rocking out in some $20 Sonys for the moment, and it is killing my ears, they sound terrible.

I was looking at some Denon and a couple Grado headphones on ebay, but they went sky high at the last minute....
Anyway. Under $60 or so, in ear or over ear. What do you have for me?
Thanks

    SRT For Life; SDA Forever!

    The SRT SEISMIC System:
    Four main satellite speakers, six powered subs, two dedicated for LFE channel, two center speakers for over/under screen placement and three Control Centers. Amaze your friends, terrorize your neighbors, seize the audio bragging rights for your state. Go ahead, buy it; you only go around once.

    if you can go another 20 above your budget i'd also look at the Grado SR 60i if you don't mind open cans
    Main 2ch -
    BlueSound Node->Ethereal optical cable->Peachtree Audio Nova 150->GoldenEar Triton 2+
    TT - Pro-ject Classic SB with Sumiko Bluepoint.

    TV 3.1 system -
    Denon 3500 -> Dynaudio Excite 32/22

    To improve your in-ear sets, get foam tips or custom molded tips (Can be pretty cheap, depending where you live.

    As for full sized cans, it might help if you list what genres you listen to the most (ie: grados are generally great for vocal, live performances and acoustics... but they've pretty weak low end, etc).

    Sennheiser is a consistent powerhouse in that price range.

    I just picked up a pair of Klipsch S4's. Mostly for travel, but I've been using them at the office as of late and have been pleased with their comfort over a few hour time span.

    And yes, you could probably get the best bang for your buck from a reputable seller on head fi's used section.
