Surroundbar or cheap separates?

I am just curious if Something like Monitor 30's and a CS1 would equal the sound of a SB42 or SB50. What do you think is a comparable separate setup? RTiA's? I personally would think the RTiA's would be considerably better. Subwoofer is a given with either, I am just pondering options.

I have heard the IHT and the surround bar 6k. I would say that a separate setup would be a better all around purchase. The surround bars are in my opinion made for the people that do not have the space. That being said the monitors would be good. The rti's would be a big step up in my opinion.
    Front - RTiA5's
    Rear - RTiA3's
    Center - CSiA4
    Sub - PSW110

I got the IHT 6000 and I must say the sound is amazing. It feels like its coming from all angles but not quite like 5.1 or 7.1 system, just watched batman the dark knight for the first time and wow I was scareed of joker. I also have onkyo ht-s7300 7.1 system, I don't know much about speakers but iht 6000 sounds good, I just wish it has hdmi port except the 3.5mm jack

I had a demo of the SB6k. Nice but I just wondered what bookshelves would be similar.
