More Official threads?

Since joining the official ICE club, I was wondering why we don't have more official threads.

I would like to see someone start an official RTi A series thread. Fill it with reviews, link mod threads, pictures of setups, decisions about equalization for theses speakers, crossover setting results, AVR combinations tested, and do it yourself fixing or speaker replacement threads. This would be nice for new people when they come to learn.

LSi Club, RTi A Club, Monitor Club ect.

Criteria should defiantly be that 65% percent of you speaker system is of the same line of speakers. Therefore, a 5.1 home theater should have the mains and center the same line of speakers. A 7.1 HT should have the main and one set of surrounds the same line of speakers or more. Subs shouldn't be a factor, but can be discussed.

These threads should be placed at the top with sticky.

Good and Bad comments about doing this?

Maybe we should develope a hybrid club to help users determine what to expect form mixing the lines.

    Answer questions like the following.

How did LSi 4 ohm speakers affect the receiver while using 8 ohm RTi's or Monitor Speakers?

Do LSi mains out shine the CSi A6 center channel too much where it is not advisable to do this setup?

    So forth and so on?

There should be a place for you and others who have experience in Hybrid Line systems. There must be a right and a wrong way to do Hybirds. I think this type of club should do more experimentation.

    The "Hybrid Club"

The bad thing with haveing only a few "Official Clubs" on a web forum is when that is the only place a product gets talked about. Sooner or later you have all this great information in one 100+ page thread.

Now comes along a new guy and tries to use the search to find information and the only thing it keeps bringing back is the "Official" thread. You then cannot do searches for toppics / subjects becuse each piece of information has the same topic.

Then mix in people just bantering and talking back and fourth with the real information scattered inbetween the lines of conversation, it makes for a real mess.

Now if there was a sticky that people could not post in and the modderators just posted links to different modds, and other usefull information that would be great. It would be like an index to some really helpfull threads.

    Good point.

I wonder is there a way to clean them is up and make Clubs orderly? If not, then we really shouldn't do it.

Yes! That what I would like to see.

Information gets reviewed and edited if need be. Junk removed, info intact.

This is a Polk forum, mostly about Polk products. Breaking off into sub categories has it's merits and drawbacks. There's already quite a few now and as said, searching through monster threads or being directed into them would be a Search function nightmare. I've stayed away from the Audyssey thread on AVS because it's so huge and repetitive that you can't navigate it.

I hate forums with like 87 stickies at the top... have to scroll to the bottom of the page to see the thread with the latest activity... I guess since this is a polk forum, there won't be that many... but anything more than like 3 is a bit annoying

You could just have 1 sticky at the top. Click on it then click on the specific series.

We already have a bunch of clubs and groups. Some are open and some are invite only. If you look in the the right place, you'll find them.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....
