I have a pair of SDA SRS that I purchased new in the 80s. Yes, I have loved the speakers all of these years. I am thinking about trying to thread some Mapleshade brass footers in the speakers, and need to know the screw diameter and pitch of the existing spikes/ feet so I can order the brass footers with the correct threads to attach the footers. I will, as all do, post my impression of this tweak when done.

Thanks so much. I have been reading the forum over the last several weeks, and had to join. A lot of great information here.

I tried the 3" Mapleshade Megafoot footers on the Polks (20 more pounds to a speaker that is already 180 pounds). I did hear some improvement in the solidness of the mids and highs. However, this was more than off set by the negative impact of raising the speakers 3". Basically, my ears were now below the sweet spot, so the bulk of the soundstage was higher. I took the footers off and will be sending them back.

I like the Mapleshade isolation items, as I put some of the triplepoints under my CD player and was astonished by the improvement in the overall clarity of the presentation. I did not replace any isolation, as the CD player was resting on it's factory rubber feet.

From my CD player experience, it was worth my trying the footers on the Polks. However, after 25 years of listening at one listening height, it was very unusual to hear the same speakers 3" higher. The soundstage was not as well defined from this listening vantage point.

I was wrong. Not wanting to move the speakers again, I gave the Mapleshades one more shot. The soundstage appeared a bit muddled, and the base less, so I decided to push the speakers five inches closer to the wall. Boy was I rewarded, base was back, but much more defined. More detail could be heard across the highs to lows. The sound stage wasn't just higher, but broader and deeper.
I must say the overall cleaness of the music with the footers is most satisfying, so I will kep these on and my SDA SRSs will have to live with the weight gain of 20 pounds per speaker. This 40 pounds of brass is not cheap, at approximately $1,200 total. However, I am experiencing my most enjoyable listening experience to date, and it's been many good years of listening. The sound change is that dramatic, not with coloring, but separation and detail, with no descernable vibration from the speaker cabinets in the music. Two pictures, one with the amount I moved the speakers closer to the wall, with the tape as the original reference, and the second a picture with an SDA speaker enoying it's new stature 3" higher and 20 pounds heavier than it's first 25 years of service.
