Wanted, Used Laptop

Looking to buy a used laptop, nothing top of the line but at least 4-5 years new. XP or Windows 7 only, preferably more than 1 GB of Ram. Cheaper is preferred, do not need gaming capabilities.

I'm in the Boston area and can pick up in New England, or will pay for shipping; i'll also consider trading audio equipment for it.

Right now I have a pair of KEF 103/4's that I could offer, a Velodyne F1200-B, Nordost Blue Heaven XLR's, or a Sony ES 5 Disc SACD Changer. Or cash / paypal, of course

    As cheap as computers are these days,why not buy a new one? You get the peace of mind with a warranty and all the latest upgrades. Just a thought.

    It's not for me, it is for a friend who's older laptop fell off a table and broke. She can't afford anything, so i'm looking to pick up something older but still functional for $100-200, or an audio trade. If someone has a good older laptop, they could take that money and put it towards one of those $400 ones Mshan linked, great deals!

    I have a Thinkpad T61 with a 14.1" widescreen, a 2GHz C2D, 2GB of RAM, and XP. I'm waiting for a new screen to come (old on got cracked) before I sell it but it'll be in great shape then.

    This is the same laptop I currently use. It's more of a business class, so no fancy bells and whistles and no TV out's or anything. But it's one hell of a workhorse, and for $200 it's gonna be tough to beat.

    HP dv6000, Intel Core Duo 1.73 GHz (Pentium), 320GB HDD, 4GB RAM, 15.6" LCD (1280x800?), Vista Home Premium (sorry!), DVD-RW/CD-RW. Custom-built and bought via Costco a few years ago (can't remember exactly when). Recently restored to Day 1 condition, so comes with usual HP software. Includes recovery system built-in on D: drive.

    Last year I did have Win7 Pro installed on this, and it ran very well. Win7 not included...

    Right now it's seeing little use on the home system (part of media server), and already have newer laptop to replace it. Aftermarket battery about a year old, though usually plugged into AC outlet 99% of time. Also has built-in BT (not a dongle), WiFi, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400, all Windows/HP updates, latest BIOS. I can send you a current Belarc Advisor profile so you can see all the internals...

    PM if you are interested! I'm willing to work out a great deal as I'm overdue for some spring cleaning...

    His bonuses include two AC adapters and the factory-sealed, credit card-sized remote (just stumbled across it, sm88). Well, at least I think it's the remote for this laptop... :redface:
