I bought a surroundbar IHT 6000 few days ago, and I just found out that this system does not support dts format. When playing saving private ryan in English, its dead silent through digital optical. But it plays when I use rca from blu ray to IHT6000 3.5mm.

The rca/3.5mm cable that I have is a low quality cable. Sound quality in between the digital optical cable and rca/3.5mm cable is a huge jump from good sounding to bad when playing music from Pandora. I was wondering if a good quality rca/3.5mm cable can come close to digital optical, and which one do you recommand? Thank you for helping me out

By the way sound quality on iht 6000 when I was watching the dark knight was amazing

How about a nice RCA cable and then an adapter at the end? I feel like there are more choices out there for RCA cables as apposed to RCA to 3.5mm cables.

Anything Signal makes is quality, and Cardas also makes one if you want to go that direction.

I just bought 25 foot and 35 foot AWG 22 3.5mm > RCA "Premium Cable" from Monoprice to connect an Ipod to AVR . The sound quality is great. 25' was $5. 35' was $7. about.
