Hi guys, I've been dealing w/ this problem for a long time and there has got to be a reason for this. When changing channels on my Tosiba au 37 it some times takes forever for the new station to come up, and on some occasions it doen't change at all. Personally I think it's all through the HDMI cable box
because I do not have this problem w/ my bdm tv. I use Cablevision as my supplier and I've had all sorts of problems that you see exactly on the Vios
commercial.I have had this delay, depixselation ,staggering, and not changing.
I think I'm answering my own question here thining it's all cablevisions tranmitting system.Just wondering if any body else has had these problems. Were talking central N.J. Thanks....LW

The cable box doesn't like it when you use HDMI through an AVR.. mine does it a little bit too (I have an HDMI from my cablebox/DVR to my Pio SC-25, then to my TV). Has something to do with the anti-pirating software in the HDMI cable..

Once my cable box actually stopped the digital video signal through the HDMI (I could still get sound). And nothing I did worked until I called Comcast and they told me I "couldn't" use HDMI through an AVR since that would set off the anti-copying software.

I just asked them to "reset" my cablebox and it has worked fine ever since... but I'm betting its the cablebox/AVR HDMI issue

+1. I have cablevision and experienced the same frustrating problems. When I upgraded to the DVR box everything's much quicker with less issues. I think there's a better processor in that box. The only problem I have now is every once in a while when I get up off the couch the picture and sound go out for a few secs. Weird.

I wounder is this is a side effect of pre-buffering the channel to support start over features as well as possible on-demand functionality.
It is very frustrating, my cable provider added some on demand channels in the middle of regular channels and whenever I hit these extra -pay on demand I think the delay is because the channel is possible checking the server to see if the customer has the subcription. so it takes a while to re-gain control so that you can move to the next channel.
