Niles SI-1230..need preamp suggestions

I don't exactly have a wealth of audio knowledge and need some help. I just bought a Niles SI-1230. It was kind of on a whim because it was NIB and they were only asking $575 at the pawn shop. Having looked around I knew that was an excellent deal for a new one. I now need a solid (but not ridiculous) preamp under $400, but I need one that has a compatible keypad I can put in another room (just one keypad needed) because I plan to keep the SI-1230 and the preamp in a closet. I'm not going to go nuts with speakers since this will basically be a background music system...probably RCi80s or something of the sort.

Any preamp suggestions?
