SurroundBar 6000

I recently purchased a Polk SurroundBar 6000. It was easy to set up and I am pleased with most of the sound particularly with music. My one concern at this time is that the owner's manual says the Source LED is supposed to turn solid Green when the Bar is receiving a Dolby Digital signal. I have tried playing Dolby Digital music as well as Dolby Digital movies and the LED remains Blue. I have my DVR cable box and a BluRay disc player both connected to my TV via HDMI cables. I am using the supplied Digital Optical Cable from the TV to the SurroundBar. Why am I not getting the Green LED with Dolby Digital sources?

    I think this was answered in the other thread but I believe you will need to hook the SB 6000 directly to the DVR box or Blue Ray player.
    I am demoing one of these units now and had it connected to the TV via optical cable and it only showed the blue light. When I connected it to by Blue Ray player and changed the settings on the Blue Ray player the light on the SB 6000 changed to green.

    I use mine connected directly to the television and have no problems getting the green light.
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    No, just used optical and by the time I turned on the subwoofer it was connected and working fine.

    Excuse me for sounding like a "know nothing" but that is basically what I am.
    OK, if I connect the audio out of my BluRay player directly into the surroundbar with the digital optical cable how do I connect my cable box to it? I know there are two other analog in connections on the bar but there are no single wire audio out connections on either the cable box or TV except a digital coaxial audio out.

    I had changed the optical out to downmix to PCM insted of DTS or Dobly Digital because I have the BDP connected to a DAC. The default setting is for DTS or Dobly digital. I also checked and it appears that my tv will only pass a PCM signal. Unless there is something that I just haven't set right on the BDP (Sony BDP-S470) or tv (Panasonic TC-P46G15).

    Thank you all for your help and suggestions.
    Here is what I plan to try and any or all of you can tell me if you think this is a good idea.
    I just ordered a Toslink Digital Optical Splitter/Coupler. I will use the Digital Optical out on both the cable box and the BluRay player commected to the coupler and then have a Digital Optical cable going to the SoundBar. This will eliminate the need to go through the TV. I understand you can only use one of the device inputs at a time but that will be fine for my needs. Also it eliminates the need to have the TV power on when I just want to listen to music.
    Any thoughts or comments?
