I will be using my vintage polks ls50s for the l/r on the onkyo 3008 and the cs350 for the center. I am wondering what's a good match for them to use for the L/R highs? Am looking for something smaller and within price range up to 700.

By "L/R highs", do you mean the rear surround speakers?

What i mean is i am looking to add 2 fronts for highs that will be above my 2 tower ls50s,either sitting on top on entertainment center, or installed in ceiling. I believe they are supposed to be positioned high above the fronts. Im new to this, as my old onkyo was the sv515pro that ive been using almost 20 years. Im used to the 5.1 system. So any advice would be appreciated.

These two links will give you a good starting point. From there, you'll have more questions and will find good answers here on the forum.

RT25is would have a matching tweeter...perhaps a tad big for heights, but they would sound nice. Even bigger, RT35 or 35is, I used them as surrounds for LS90s and they were very close as well.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO
    BW Silvers
    Oppo BDP-83SE

You can do better than that if you are willing to look.

Also, are installing what yamaha calls presence speakers, or front height speakers? I have never done this, and am not aware of many who do (or ever heard it done for that matter). Having said that, I have read some say that they do not hear much of a difference, so you might wanna be sure to do your research before you make the investment. Just my 2 cents...

I'm not sure if he can. There were no LS bookies. A tweeter match is about as close as he can get.

Onks and Denons in the 9.2 config offer heights or wides. I haven't tried it either, but those that have usually recommend heights as having the most profound effect when overlaid in Dolby PLIIz. kuntasensei swears by it.

Ive heard alot of people that like the heights. I only heard one person mention the wides and how cool they sounded during hd broadcast of nfl game.

I like LS50s alot. If you go forward with 25is as heights, let me know. I sold my LS setup and am back to SDAs which go pretty tall without help, but I'm tempted to go with the extra channels available on my Onk, but it would probably be Monitor 5jrs for me.

I did not mean to imply that the rt25is arent a good choice (I think they're a great choice) but rather that you can find them for less than 125 if you look hard. Since his budget is 700 however I dont think thats an issue ;-)
