RT3000p hook-up option #1

The owners manual refers to "flat metal connecting straps" used on the SUBWOOFERS when hooking up my RT3000p's using "option #1". I've never had the flat straps, but use the angled straps on the SATELLITEs and make the connections as otherwise described. Does not using the flat metal straps diminish the speaker's performance somehow?? If it does, can I just use good quality speaker wire to connect these binding posts?? Thanks for any help!!

yes you can. Some think that it is actually better to use a short piece of wire and spades to connect the upper and lower binding post.
