Sounds like the owner of the car is a real ****. He could make some good money for himself and let someone restore the car to its former glory so others can enjoy it. Instead he chooses to let it rot in a barn till there's nothing left...really sad.

Lots of "old car guys" are like that. I saw a nice looking Grand National that was slowly sinking into the ground... used to drive past it quite often. Eventually the guy put a big "NOT FOR SALE" sign on it... don't know why people would do that except for sentimental value.

Granted, I do have my dad's '67 Yamaha sitting in his garage doing just about the same thing. Hoping to restore it some day.... some day... Eventually it will have turned to dust, and I'll still hang on to it. Sweep the dust into a box marked "'67 Yamaha YDS3" and stick it on the shelf.
    Ludicrous gibs!

I third that. I hate how some people hang on to old cars and just let them ROT. I knew a man who had a huge collection, and his prize was a 71' Mach One, had a solid body, and was ready for restore. It sat in his barn for ten years, and then the barn burned to the ground, car and all. He's also got about 75 other classics on his land. Every year when it floods, he looses a few. What a shame, sell that crap and let someone else enjoy it!

Its a shame. I am sure the car would have an endless list of suitors should it be sold.

That car is worth silly money, to a collector like Leno, or those clowns from Top Gear.

Even if you don't want the car for financial gain, you could still put it up for auction, and give the $$$ to charity?
I refuse to argue with idiots, because people can't tell the DIFFERENCE!
