OK. I have my eyes on a pair of 2.3tl and I am going to need to sell my SRS 2 pair to do it. These are the later Pin/Blade Version. I am sending the crossovers out to Ben to get them modified. Sonicaps high and low. They also have RDO 194 replacement tweeters. All original and correct drivers. I am going to let them go for $1,000. This is less than I have into them in purchase costs and crossover upgrades. I will have to wait to meet until I get the crossovers back from Ben.

I will get some pictures tonight. They are in overall good shape. The tops are clean, The bottom of the bottom wood caps is a little rough, but nothing you can see from the front or sides. One of the grill cloths has a couple blemishes. One of the passives has a small blemish, but it has not leaked or caused me any issues at all. They sound great, just want to move to the 2.3tl.

I would be willing to meet someone halfway to deliver these. I will drive up to 2 hours. I will also hopefully be at a meet in the Indy area on May 8th.

Someone please buy these :) I would REALLY like to snag the 2.3tl!

I would never tell another man what to do, but unless you just want a slightly taller pair of SRS's, you probably won't gain much by moving to a pair of 2.3s. At least wait until you get the x-overs back and burned in before you make a call. You may be pleasantly surprised by how well your 2s will sound.

Yeah, I agree with stubby. If a pair of SRS 2 aren't satisfying enough, then I'd say that you're probably not going to find satisfaction within the SDA lineup. There may be some slight differences here and there between SRS 2, 2.3, 2.3tl, but it won't be night and day. At that point I think it's more about trying to find a pair within that range that's in very nice physical condition ... and keeping them that way. If the SRS 2 aren't in great condition and you can get a minty pair of 2.3tl, then I can see making the move. Good luck either way.

Well then.... I was under the impression there was a big difference between the SRS 2 and the 2.3tl and 1.2tl. Well, now the 2 of you have me thinking. I guess I will have to listen to them again once I get the crossovers back. If there are any other opinions out there, please reply. Don't worry about "de-railing" the thread, I give my blessing :)

I've owned both 2.3tl's and SRS2's and the big plus for me was the rdo-198's over the sl2000's/194's. Other than that both are good and depending on what you can get the TL's for would be the deciding factor. I wouldn't sell a pair of modded srs2's for stock tl's.

I have the SRS 2 pin/blade version and the only speaker I would sell them for would be the SRS 1.2 or 1.2tl version. There is a noticeable bump up with those speakers. I would wait to hear the modded version myself.

I'm not discounting the 2.3's,,or the tl's,, but I would seriously listen to yours after the caps burn in before I would make a decision. What are you driving them with?I drove mine with a Belles 350,, then the big Parasound A-21,IIRC,, both amps exhibited great synergy with the SDA SRS 2's.

Looked at you sig-- you have the amplification-- you might wanna try a tubed pre with the HCA 3500.Good luck.

Hmmm... Now ya'll are giving me the idea about modding my stock pin/blade SDA/SRS2's also:) Agree with you guys, these babies love the powerful amps, they really come alive when you start pushing them with some solid 200 watts rms/channel and up amps.

The first thing I did was mod/crossover mine--selling them was my biggest SDA mistake,FWIW

Thanks for the info. Can you give me a little more insight As to why you would have kept the SRS 2? I think I might just keep them now... But I am on the edge.

    Same question to you George.
