Just picked these up yesterday from Loud & Clear.
He was a great guy to deal with, and was very honest. Definitely worth the drive to get these!

Ok, What am I missing here? Left speaker says left just as right says right on the labels behind them.

No, he has them setup correctly. I checked my 2.3's and they are setup in the same originetation, plus I checked the label on the back. You're probably thinking of 2.3 tls...

    BTW, nice speakers.

Sweet speakers! Not to be too blunt, but you may want to play with the room placement and see if you get better sound. You may be surprised what you find...

Congrats and welcome to Club Polk!

Enjoy the 2.3's they look to be in great shape. As Conradicles says they are a might sensitive to 'proper' placement but the SDA's will let you know when you are there.
    Again, congratulations and enjoy them.

No and if anything, the low end should tighten up. Get them on spikes or be gone.

It's a tough room to get good placement. Have a fireplace on one wall and open doorways on the other walls. Also interfering with the living room decor according to girlfriend. She just doesn't get it!

The cosmetic condition is amazing on these! It's obvious the first owner just never handled them much. And [Loud & Clear -Polk Member] just takes fantastic care of all his gear! The amp is a Rogue Cronus/Magnum 90WPC which drive these quite nicely. Now trying to decide the fate as to whether to sell my 15TL's. The SDA's are a totally different beast compared to the 15's. So far I am very happy with these speakers.

Would the spikes that came with my 15's work? I'm sure they are the same thread size.

That chair is definitely not in the sweet spot :-)
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Ive never "seen" these speakers in person, but on various pics here and on the web it looks like some of these 2.3 models have 6 drivers in each cabinet,
and some have what appear to be 2 (6.5' radiators??) on the top and bottom of the line of 4 drivers??? not sure whats in there?

    someone must have noticed this?

can anyone clear this up? were there different 2.3 models? they definately look different sometimes!

    Thanks:wink:

these are the first run 2.3, the odd looking speakers on the top and bottom are for low bass extension only, (donut drivers). The later 2.3tl's had 6 working MW with 4 stereo and two dimensional drivers and set up opposite of these.

here are the two side by side

I have had both at the same time and compared them, Yes there are differences but not as dramatic as I thought it would be. In the end there was no clear winner, well for me anyway. I sold the non tl's because I did not have as much in them (time or money). Anyone getting a chance to get either for a good price I would strongly advise to get them.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I see they had different designation for different years.

However on the sda-srs, srs 1.2, srs 1.2tl
They didnt appear to use those "doughnuts"
Do they just have tweeter and crossover changes?

    Thanks

    Hey Mike,

Are your 1C's 6 ohms also? Which setting do you have your Magnum set 4 or 8 ohms? Do you know if the Magnum is common ground? Hope you enjoy your amp as much as I do! Any tube rolling yet?
