I have 3 Lsi7s that I have used as the front stage in my Home theater for about a year. They sound marvelous but with a baby on the way daddy needs to downsize. These include jumpers I made using some extra monster wire I had lying around and bananas from monoprice.

I would rate these 6/10 on audiogons scale. I feel that they are very presentable overall, but there are a number of small blemishes such as small dings or scratches. The two main blemishes to note are 1)there are two scratches in the side of the left speaker that the previous owner tried to fill in and 2)2 of the 3 grills could use repairing or replacing. The one is coming loose around the edges, the other has some wax stains. The pulled grill came to me that way; the wax stains are thanks to my 3 yr old  They are 16 each shipped from Polk if you feel like replacing them. I never did.

Please look closely at the pics and let me know if you want more.

Note on Lsi7 as center channel. I set it on its side with the tweeter on top and thought it sounded wonderful, especially and multi channel music and concert discs.

I paid $340 plus shipping for these, and since I messed up one of the grills I am asking $325 plus shipping, which I am guessing will cost $50-75 since they will require 2 boxes for safe shipping. Seeing as ONE PAIR (refurbed) will cost $500 shipped direct from Polk, I feel that this is a very fair price. You will essentially get a $100 discount and a free speaker.

Please pay with paypal as a gift, or cover the paypal fees. I have numerous transactions here but no feedback. If you want links to other transactions let me know.

It's my first venture into LSi's, and I am very much looking forward to it! I've heard the LSi7's at Fry's which weren't even close to being setup in a proper manner and they sounded fantastic. I'm excited to see what a more proper setup with Audyssey can sound like.

I'm afraid that this will be an extremely slippery slope, and my wallet is very afraid. For now, I will stick with my T15's for for the 4 surround speakers. As long as the front stage matches (which it will), I will be content - for now.

I think I got a great deal, and the aesthetics don't bother me. Thankfully (or not?) I'm currently single, so I don't have to worry about how the significant other would respond. I just want great sound!

What a steal! I remember buying mine (only two) for $325 shipped. Use the extra as a center, a rear center or get a few more pairs and make a 7.1 Lsi7 system. There are plenty of things to do with one extra speaker! GLWS!

Edit: I see they are sold. I hope the deal went through 8)

Thanks for the kind words DHart. These are wonderful speakers that I enjoyed very much; perhaps I will pick up another pair sometime down the road, but for now there are other things to think about!
    Peace,

For now, I will be using the third LSi7 as a center. I may or may not get an LSiC in the future depending on how I can place it and how it sounds. I know that center channels are considered a compromise anyway and three identical speakers for the front sound stage is optimal. As such, this may work out very well. I just don't know if I can stand it up or if I will have to lay it on its side. I know laying it on its side can affect dispersion to some extent, so I will try things out and see how it sounds.

As for an all LSi 7.1 system, that will come at some point. My T15's will have to hold me over for awhile as far as the 4 surround speakers go. My next purchase will be a proper amplifier and preamp (or integrated with preouts). I'll have to use my Denon 7.1 receiver for the time being to power the LSi7's, unfortunately. I just can't afford to upgrade it right away. Note that if these were the LSi9's I wouldn't even attempt that, and they would sit in the boxes until I could do the pre/amp upgrade. However, from what I've read, the LSi7's should be okay off an integrated as long as I watch the volume, they just won't reach their full potential.

Mind you, the LSi9's and 7's I heard at Fry's were run off an integrated in a very sub-optimal setup and they still sounded fantastic. I look forward to what they future will bring with these speakers.

I should have them in my hands on Thursday, but of course I'm not off until the weekend. As such, I don't know if I'll be able to do more than unbox and stare lovingly at them in the meantime.

So, I received the speakers and finally got around to setting them up. They sound fantastic! They had a wide sound stage when listening to the lousy setup at Fry's, but it is even better setup at home. To say I'm impressed would be an understatement.

They are currently paired with a Pioneer Elite VSX-21TXH. This was purchased as an upgrade from my previous Denon AVR-788 just for these speakers. I needed something with more power, and also pre-outs to add an amplifier later on down the road when I eventually get LSi's for the surround speakers. I wish I had more forethought and paid a bit more to get one with pre-outs when I purchased the Denon a couple of years back. Oh well. One thing to note is that the Pioneer Elite even improved the sound of the R50's that I was using. However, now the R50's are being used as (quite nice) speaker stands for the LSi7's, and actually put them at just the right level. Also note that my initial impressions are prior to using the Advanced MCACC on the receiver, and I'm already incredibly impressed. I suspect they will even improve a bit more once I run it.

Also, here are a few tips for the cosmetic issues that these speakers had:
    1) Candle wax on the grill covers - All you need for this one is a heat gun or high powered hair dryer. I used my heat gun on the low setting and simply blew it over the areas that were affected. The candle wax simply evaporated off. Be careful, and don't use too high of a heat setting (or for too long), as you can possibly melt the plastic or grill cloth itself.

    2) Grill fabric coming loose from around the edges - Hot glue worked fantastic for me on this. Place a very thin layer on the plastic where the cloth should be attached. Next, use a rubber jar opener to gently coax the fabric up and around to the glue and hold it there for a few seconds. Be careful not to pull the fabric too much or you will notice kinks in the cloth.

    3) Deep scratches - Find an ultra fine point sharpie with a similar color to the wood, some isopropyl alcohol (70% is fine) and a roll of paper towels. Make sure it is the ultra fine point, as you want it to get inside the scratch/gouge. Wipe down the area you are working on with a paper towel slightly damped with the alcohol. Next, color in the scratch as best you can - don't worry too much about going outside of it. Once that is done you will need another (clean) paper towel damped in alcohol. Wipe gently over the area that you colored in. If this is done properly, you will be left with marker color only in the scratch itself and it should be blended quite well. You will certainly still be able to see it close up, but it will look much better from a distance.

By the way, is the iTrader system ever going to be fixed so that I can leave proper feedback for this transaction?
