I'm looking for an easy introduction to tubes, and there are a couple of integrated amps in the area both for around $1,100. One's a Jolida 502brc with some upgraded caps and transformer, and the other is a Yaqin MS300B with some upgraded tubes. Is one model/brand better than the other?

There's a big difference in power with the Yaqin only putting out about 10wpc and the Jolida putting out 60. These will be run with a pair of SDA 2B's which I guess could stress the Yaqin. I'd rather not have tubes drive me back into the arms of Klipsch.

So, either of these a safe bet or should I just look for a tube pre that would pair with my B&K 200.2 as a first step?

Don't know what to tell you here so we'll wait for the Tubistas. I'm experimenting with a Jolida JD30X series, a model down from yours, but it's still in the break-in period.

My suspicion is that with SDAs (and I own some) more power is not a bad idea but 2Bs are not as power hungry as some of their bigger brothers.

Let's see what the 'aficionados' think--tube rollers, one and all.

    Here's a bump!
