The basic stuff is rolling some tubes. If you want to go a little more extreme then you could replace some caps. What kinds of tubes does that amp use?
If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.

I dont know what tube rolling means but I set the bias manually on this unit . This yaqin unit uses el34b and I dont know about the pre tubes

I found a guy on ebay who is claiming to have tubes for this unit

Tube rolling is swapping brand and sometimes (in certain cases) different but similiar tubes.

The Yaq probably came with some of the lower quality chinese tubes stock if you bought it new. If you purchased it used, someone may of already swapped some. Only you can tell us.

I would suggest leaving the power tubes alone at the moment and start looking at the front end tubes, in the pre section. They should have the largest impact in changing the sound.

Now as far as what to try when rolling, well thats a can of worms. SOme swear by NOS (New Old Stock) while others are happy with current production. NOS usually come at a bit of a premium for most, and a large premium for others. You'll know what sounds good to you, and different amps respond to different tubes, differently. What sounds great in one amp, may sound like s@#t in another.

You should search around and see what others have tried with that amp, and see what they're happy with. Beyond that it can be a roll of the dice.

Good luck, rolling is fun and addictive. You may want to hide your wallet from yourself.

I would change the 4 smaller tubes first. It looks like they are 6dj8 tubes so you should be able to find some good tubes for that amp.
