I am correct that these are the 12's? And if so how fair is the price they are asking? And another question is how do they sound in comparison to other monitors of the time? Thanks.

I had a pair and liked them, can upgrade tweets to 198s, some find the bass to be boomy. I did not.

WRT, I bought a pristine pair for $175, at $400 they are way over priced.

In that price range your SDA 1Cs slay the M12s IMO

So besides some people thinking they are a little boomy in base monitor 12's have a pretty good sound stage? Just wondering, I like expanding my knowledge on old polks.

They sound a lot like Monitor 10's with more bottom end. I never felt they were boomy but then again I don't mess with EQ's either.

    I prefer the Monitor 7's and 10's over the 5's and 12's.
