Ya, too far of a drive for me. Less than $220 a box is a good price.
Some day, they'll pop up locally.

If thats all thats stopping you, see if you can find one of the the TX polkies to ship em for ya if they are something you really want.

We have a pretty large group of TX Polkies and maybe one of them would be willing to help you out here, depending on how far from them these speakers are....

    Just a thought..

Shipping would end up adding too much to the cost, to make it worthwhile.
Part of the draw for me is that used the RT's are a great deal. They sound pretty darn nice for HT as well.

He said he would assist with shipping. I would estimate packing and shipping would be well over $500. I'm just 350 miles away but I can't use them. No room in my house is large enough.

He said he would assist with shipping and importantly, that they are in their original boxes. So with that they can be shipped in original boxes with no issues?

It was good talking to you, and hope the weather broke long enough for you to get them indoors!

Let us know when you get them unboxed and start poking around. And give me a call when you break into that amp and we'll see if we can't get it up and running.

    Congrats!

That's a nice looking set. How do you like them? If you need to you can send the amp in and CS will fix you right up...

Thanks to all for the congrats.

I've got them unboxed and working, I wouldn't call them setup, cause the speaker wire I dug out of my junk pile doesn't come any smaller, the fronts are sandwiched in between an old 61" TV and my SDAs, the center is sitting on a couple of cases of beer in front of the TV and the surrounds on on top of RT3000P shipping boxes. And did I mention the room is too small?

That said --- they ROCK, even with the right front amp inop. Once the amp is fixed these ought to be totally KICK ****.

My question now is what do I need and need to know taking this thing apart to get at the amp? Hopefully, it'll be an easy fix with nothing more than a loose wire or something.

All I know, is that when plugged in the light on the front doesn't come on, if it makes a hum I couldn't hear it.

Now -- if I can just get a 10 foot extension built onto to the garage and turn it into my HT, I'll really be in bidness.

Not too hard to take apart.

    1. unplug
    2. remove like 16 wood screws from the back - 1 inch ish long
    3. pull out - note - HEAVY
    4. support while you undo the quick connect wire connections.

There are some fuses so you may get lucky. All this one does is buzz. The pics will show you what you will end up with.

Also there was an early version (as this one) where the light will not come on until a signal is fed to the amp. However...if your other amp lights upon power connect then likely both should be the same and light up upon power connect.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Once you get the screws out, you may have to gently pry it loose depending on how 'stuck' it feels. Just make sure you have a strong grip on the amp because once it breaks loose, it's heavy and awkward. I'm sure Polk CS will get you up and running with that amp again in no time. That's an awesome system. Enjoy!

    Couple of hints:
Definitely use pre-outs from your AVR for all powered subs in the system.
I much preferred the RT3000 and CS1000 sub amps connected to the L/R/C pre-outs on the AVR vs using any of them for LFE. Bass is much more natural for music.
If you end up with hum in any of the subs, use a ground loop isolator with your Cable box. That will fix most hum issues.
