For sale Onix,[Melody], tube integrated. 38 wpc near new condition, low hours. I'm the original owner. I was using it with my Klipsch Cornwalls that I no longer have so it's time to sell the amp. Check out the review at http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/onix/onix.html. $475.00 plus shipping. I have the original box, packing, and manual. There is also a tube cage not shown in photos.

That's a nice looking piece...and a nice review. Too bad I'm already spoken for because had this come up a little 'earlier' before I committed to a tube amp. I would've definitely Bitten on this!
Good Luck with the sale!

Hmm, very interesting! You have to set your own bias then, correct? If so, the first of two stupid questions..
1. How do you set the bias then?
2. What is the "0 Ohm" connection for?Computer room Hegeman 1 SpeakersM&K VX-80 subKenwood DP-7010Cambridge Audio CXC Transport Rega DACPrimaLuna Prologue Four AmpAric Audio Tube PreampGarage Jennings Research SquareCustom tube preampCrown XLS-1000Denon DCD-1500II Modded MSB Link DAC -
Bias adjustments are done on either side of the amp just behind the switches. The back of the amp has 8 and 4 ohm taps.

Umm, don't you have to use some type of meter to do the biasing? The pic shows a tap that says "0" ohm...??Computer room Hegeman 1 SpeakersM&K VX-80 subKenwood DP-7010Cambridge Audio CXC Transport Rega DACPrimaLuna Prologue Four AmpAric Audio Tube PreampGarage Jennings Research SquareCustom tube preampCrown XLS-1000Denon DCD-1500II Modded MSB Link DAC

Yes a meter is needed. The 0 ohm is for the black speaker cable.
The positive goes to the red 4 or 8 ohm tap.

That's the "common" or negative lug for your speakers. The positive then connects to the 8 ohm or 4 ohm taps. -

this is a steal for 4752 CHANNEL
Speaker - Klipsch Heresy II
Under construction -
This is a high quality integrated amp, well built 56lb gear producing tubey 38wpc with gusto. Bass is authoritative, with broad soundstage and sweet midrange. A tube roller dream with its tube complement of 5881, 12AX7, 6922 and 12AU7. A bargain at this price point.

I'm very new to tubes though I own a pair of RS450 that I haven't listened to for close to a year due to work travel...
Now, I am very happy with the RS450 though I was burned on av123's other product that we all know what it was. However I heard stunning reviews on the SP3 and have always wanted one.
Obviously this tube is great for 2 ch listening, but do people pair a tube with a receiver (I have the Onkyo 805) for 2ch listening and have the receiver drive the center+surrounds when watching movies?Onkyo 805, RtiA5s, Csi5, Rti6s -
When I reviewed the RS450's some 4 years ago now, they were paired with the SP3. A very nice budget combination, overall sonics tip a bit to the sweet/soft side. Bass from the SP3 is strong but a bit sloppy compared to the Vista i34. Melody of Australia designed the amp (manufactured in China) and build/finish quality is exceptional. Personally, its art deco styling makes it one of the very best looking tube amps built. Tube rolling is quite simple and worthwhile as long as you follow the directions.Review Site_ (((AudioPursuit)))
