I have a pair of those but the wood on mine is black.

    $250 is a sweet deal.

3.1's indeed. They are rather rare to boot.

For $250 I would run and not think twice.

i've called and emailed the seller.. it's up to him to get back to me now..

I hate the waiting game.. although he listed them at 11pm last night.. and I emailed him at 2am before going to bed.. so maybe if he didn't get any other emails last night.. he might give me a chance to look/buy them..

I've never seen let alone heard a pair of 3.1TL's before..

Is that a woofer I see instead of a passive?

I dunno... but it looks normal.. as I have seen that same thing in other pictures of 3.1TL's

can anyone say for sure if it's a woofer or passive radiator?

The passive radiator on the 3.1 is a cone-shape instead of a flat panel.

I did not know that Polk ever used a cone woofer for a passive on an SDA. I guess you learn something every day. Thanks.

Hope you can get them Al. The 3.1 TL's are my favorite SDA's for a room smaller than a Stadium.

that's what I thought too... i don't think Polk ever used a traditional woofer in any SDA that I know of.

Hmmm... makes you wonder - does anyone who makes subs combine an active woofer with a passive radiator?

Following those lines, does Polk use PRs with active woofers in their subs/floorstanding speaker/subs?

No... but there've been more than a few FrankenPolks over the years.

Bob Carver's Sunfire True sub's used a passive in combo with its long-throw active.
